Watch Battery Equivalents & Size Guide

Wrist watches usually need silver oxide cells for stable 1.55V timing. Alkaline labels (LR/AG) fit the same holders but sag sooner under load. Match diameter × height first, then prefer SR/377-style chemistry for quartz movements.

Selection notes

  • Measure the old cell or read the movement chart — 6.8 × 2.6 mm (377) is not the same as 6.8 × 2.1 mm (364).
  • Prefer silver oxide (SR) over alkaline (LR) for accuracy and longer service intervals.
  • High-drain vs low-drain labels (e.g. 357 vs 303) matter for chronographs and light modules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put an alkaline cell in a watch that came with silver oxide?

It often fits, but voltage sag can make the watch run slow or stop early. Silver oxide is the better long-term choice for quartz watches.

Is 377 the same as SR626SW?

Yes for shopping purposes. 377 is the common US label for the SR626SW silver oxide cell (6.8 × 2.6 mm). Do not confuse it with thinner 364/SR621SW.

What is the difference between 377 and 364 watch batteries?

Both are 6.8 mm wide. 377/SR626SW is 2.6 mm thick; 364/SR621SW is 2.1 mm thick. Using the wrong height causes poor contact or a caseback that will not close.

Can I use LR44 in a watch instead of 357?

LR44/AG13 often fits the same holder as 357/SR44, but alkaline voltage sag is worse for timekeeping. Prefer silver oxide 357 for watches.
